Soldiers find time for hockey in Afghanistan

http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20100204/ap_on_re_as/as_afghan_desert_hockey

KANDAHAR AIR FIELD, Afghanistan – "Attack! Attack! Attack! Attack!"

No bombs nor rockets — just a spectator yelling during a tight game of the Kandahar Ball Hockey League, played Monday through Friday nights at NATO's biggest military base in southern Afghanistan.

There's no ice and no puc… Continue

Keith Ballard, WTF?!!

" target="_blank">

Trying to take out his frustration by breaking his stick on the goal, Keith Ballard tomahawk chops his own goalie. One of the most bizarre plays you'll ever see . . .

hey benny-
weather looks good for today and I'll definitely be playing.

will have at least one of the boys--the other one has a gig at 3p but might show later. if it rains, I'm sure my wife can take all 3 kids back to our house.
my kids usually like riding their bikes behind the school so we might bring those too.

see you in a few.

Your friend Chuck got me and Tim shitfaced on Friday night. We tried to find you guys at El Chup...ended up at the G&D in Fremont. My wife had the pleasure of finding Tim passed out face down in our bathroom Saturday morning.

Thanks for the info Benny. Me, Tim and Jason and pretty psyched about the game...we even have practices every now and then (how corny is that). Yeah, hopefully it isn't too expensive to change my ticket. My in-laws get a place in the Panhandle every summer. I don't even know where. Fort Walton Beach...something like that. Seriously?!? Who goes to Florida in the summer? I'd be down in the winter, but I can't stand the heat. Plus I hate leaving Seattle in the summertime anyway. Let me know what Greg has to say, or if I see him around town (ie Prost), I'll ask him too. Thanks again.

Hey Benny, looks like you're coordinating the USA/Canada game, at least from the US side. My folks are in town so I won't make hockey the next couple of weeks, so I wanted to check in to see if any roster had been settled on. I'm interested in playing, but realize I'm a new guy, so wasn't sure if there was room for me. I'm supposed to be flying out to Florida that day, but am willing to change my ticket if there's room for me on the team. I'd hate to pay the money to change it, then find out the US roster is full. Any update you might have would be great. Take care. Steve
